What helps fuel Pack 8? POPCORN! Popcorn sales provide much of the funding for Pack 8 (there is a direct-fee alternative for busy families) and it also provides funding for the Boy Scouts of America. There are opportunities for Scouts to earn great prizes and those Scouts who sell over $1,000 worth of Popcorn become members of the Millenium Club and eligible for a special outing, such as a visit to the US Whitewater Center. Popcorn season runs from the first Saturday in October to Veteran's Day in November. In addition, when the Pack meets its goal, there is a tradition for the Cubmaster to do something pretty crazy, like our previous Cubmaster's pledge to dye his hair blue & gold!

Pack 8 just earned its qualification for the Pope Paul VI Catholic Quality Unit Award - this award recognizes achievement by the Pack through more than 25% of Cub Scouts earning their corresponding religious award & knot, adherence to Diocesian and BSA leadership and training requirements, performing service projects for its chartering Church & community, participation in religous activities, and learning about church-related vocations. Those Cub Scouts who have earned their religious award and/or knot are entitled to wear the National Catholic Quality Unit Award patch - great job, Pack 8!
Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. For a guide to Pack 8 for 2009/2010 - click here.
Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join our Pack, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting Troops. Contact Scoutmaster Mark Spisak for information on how to join Troop 8.
