Join Pack 8 for some low-key camping at Stone Mountain State Park. If you'd like to join us, please send an e-mail to Mr. Kubala at christopher.kubala@bankofamerica.com and let us know your name, Den number (or new to the Pack) and how many are coming. There is no cost for this event, but you'll have to provide your own food. We'll sponsor a hike, and you can go fishing, see the historic exhibits and try your hand at rock climbing available at the Park. We'll also see if there are any geo-cache's available (so bring your GPS, if you have one). |

A Scout is Reverent This statement is one of the cornerstones of all of Scouting. We start the Cub Scout Promise with: "I promise to do my best to do my duty to God..." The Boy Scouts of America recognize that each of us interprets our Duty to God by following our own Faith. Our Chartered Organization, St. Matthew, is a Catholic Church and a robust community. But we also have members of the Pack of many different faiths. Pack 8 encourages Scouts of all faiths to explore and deepen their relationship with God by pursuing the Religious Emblem appropriate to your faith. We will cover the costs of the Handbook for your faith: please let us know which is appropriate for your family. Working on the Religious Emblem is an opportunity for Parent and Scout to have a structured conversation designed to deepen the Scout's faith in an age-appropriate and Church-approved way. |

Click here to return to the home page. We are Cub Scouts Pack 8, based near Ballantyne in Charlotte, NC. We are chartered by St. Matthew Catholic Church, and we belong to the Apache Division of the Mecklenburg Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. For a guide to Pack 8 for 2008/2009 - click here. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join our Pack, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting Troops. See www.bsatroop8.com for information on how to join Troop 8. We'd love to hear from you! You can contact Christopher Kubala Cubmaster via email or at 704.996.2043. |
