On Dec. 10, 2009, several members of Pack 8 were honored for their service at the Apache District awards banquet at St. Matthews Catholic Church. In addition to the always present fun, friendship, and fellowship, the banquet was designed to honor and recognize those who have distinguished themselves in serving their Packs, Dens, Troops, and Crews, as well as the District and the Council in so many ways! Leading the list is our own Pack 8 Cubmaster, Christopher Kubala, who received Cubmaster of the Year for 2009. Way to Do Your Best, Mr. Kubala!! Mr. Kubala also received the William D. Boyce Award for sponsoring and helping to set up a new unit: Pack 24 associated with the British-American School; the District Membership Growth Award; and, the Unit District Award for running the fantastic Cubarees this year. Great recognition for an outstanding and devoted contribution to Scouting. AJ Ayd of Den 15 won a District Award of Merit for hard work on the summer camp. Tim Rademacher of Den 14 won the God Send Award for his tireless devotion to the Pack in so many ways. Joseph Martinez was awarded the Spring Cubaree Award for his outstanding contribution to organizing and running a full set of ranges at the Cubarees. Our congratulations and appreciation goes out to our award recipients for their accomplishments and for their valued service in support of our sons' Scouting experience. |

We are chartered by St. Matthew Catholic Church, and we belong to the Apache Division of the Mecklenburg Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. For a guide to Pack 8 for 2009/2010 - click here. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join our Pack, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting Troops.
