Pack 8 is a volunteer-run organization. So it goes without saying that we need.....YOU to step up and help out the team. This benefits your son in that he gets to see Mom or Dad take an active part in the Cub Scout Experience. It benefits the Pack in that we get to allow some of the 15 people running everything to take a little breather now and again. And it benefits YOU in that it gives you an opportunity to act like a little kid, support the Pack, and generally feel good about yourself. Most of our leader positions don't require a Khaki shirt, but you'd be welcome to get yourself one if you wanted to...we've got a bunch of "Pack Committee" patches to put on your Arm :) Please have a look at the attachment and consider helping out. If you want to know what being a leader entails, please call Christopher Kubala at 704 996 2043. WHY I AM A LEADER |

Click here to return to the home page. We are Cub Scouts Pack 8, based near Ballantyne in Charlotte, NC. We are chartered by St. Matthew Catholic Church, and we belong to the Apache Division of the Mecklenburg Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. For a guide to Pack 8 for 2008/2009 - click here. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join our Pack, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting Troops. Contact Scoutmaster Mark Spisak for information on how to join Troop 8. We'd love to hear from you! You can contact Christopher Kubala Cubmaster via email or at 704.996.2043. For information regarding Girl Scouts at St. Matthew Catholic Church, please contact Lee Christian-Clinton or Dana Trumpower. |

More info
Some volunteer opportunities are a year long, for a few hours a month, while others are more "events specific", requiring a little more time over a shorter period. Regardless of what your preference is, we sure appreciate all the help we can get.
In addition, if you have a special talent (ie. artistic talent, woodworking skills) or are passionate about something you can share with the boys, run it by either one of us. Maybe we'll find a way to use your talent.
Again, thank you for helping make the pack go.
Sincerely,
Vincent Dols, (Former) Committee Chairman, August 28, 2008
