What helps fuel Pack 8? POPCORN! Popcorn sales provide much of the funding for Pack 8 (there is a direct-fee alternative for busy families) and it also provides funding for the Boy Scouts of America. There are opportunities for Scouts to earn great prizes and those Scouts who sell over $1,000 worth of Popcorn become members of the Millenium Club and eligible for a special outing, such as a visit to the US Whitewater Center. Popcorn season runs from the first Saturday in October to Veteran's Day in November. In addition, when the Pack meets its goal, there is a tradition for the Cubmaster to do something pretty crazy, like our previous Cubmaster's pledge to dye his hair blue & gold! /center>

Did you know that you don't have to be a Den leader or other Pack leader to become a qualified BB and Archery Range Officer? It's true! Parents are encouraged to come out to Belk Scout Camp on Saturday, June 6 for BB and Archery Range Officer Training. The purpose of the class is to train Cub Scout BB & Archery instructors for Day Camps and District events. Trainees can serve as range officers. Without range officers, we cannot open the BB or Archery ranges at these events!
The date is Saturday, June 6. The course will be at Belk Scout Camp beginning at 9:00 am. The training sessions will be covered back to back.
In-order to participate in the course, please sign-up through Del Whittaker, Apache Program Chairman delwhittaker@msn.com. Once you are signed up then show up for a great day of training. There is no charge for this training.
Chris Babin needs BB - Archery Trained instructors for Webelos Resident Camp. If you can help, please contact Chris at mbabin29@bellsouth.net.
Please let Jim Daly JDaly@Familydollar.com if you attend any training so we can keep up to date with all Pack 8 Leader training.
Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. For a guide to Pack 8 for 2009/2010 - click here.
Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join our Pack, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting Troops. Contact Scoutmaster Mark Spisak for information on how to join Troop 8.
We'd love to hear from you!
